Tatum + Genita

I remember the first time I did a site visit at this wedding location—took my breath away! So much beautiful space right above the water. Tatum and Genita wanted to put the focus on the land itself, fully embracing the mid-summer dry grass and jaw-dropping ocean views. They wanted to enjoy their entire wedding day so they brought in San Juan Outfitters to provide kayaks for family and friends who wanted to get out on the water on the morning of the wedding.

Sweetest Moment: Due to health concerns, we weren’t sure if Genita’s father was going to be able to perform the usual FOB duties. Not only did he walk her down the aisle, but they had one of the sweetest father/daughter dances I’ve seen.

Best Decor Item: From the sheer natural beauty of the groom’s family island home to the carefully crafted favor bags (the bride and her sister individually braided each handle out of local lavender!), there were so many beautiful elements to this wedding. One of my favorite custom details was the pressed flowers used for each table “number.”

Take Note For Your Wedding: Try not to stress too much if you wake up to clouds/fog on your wedding day. Our islands can be slow to wake up but it’s very common to have a grey morning turn into a brilliantly sunny afternoon—just in time for your ceremony!
